Success Stories
Telecom Carrier — Southeastern US CLEC
A competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) operating across Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee needed to replace aging DSLAM infrastructure with Ethernet-based access equipment. Adtran deployed 2,400+ managed access switches and 180 aggregation routers over a 14-month rollout. The new network achieved 99.97% availability in its first year, measured against Telcordia GR-1244 availability standards. The project required NEBS Level 3 compliant equipment to meet the carrier's central office environmental specifications.
Education — Large Public University (25,000+ Students)
A large public university in the Midwest required a wireless infrastructure upgrade to support 30,000 concurrent devices across 45 buildings, including lecture halls, dormitories, and research labs. Adtran deployed 1,200+ Wi-Fi 6 access points with centralized controller management, achieving 99.5% coverage verification using Ekahau post-deployment surveys. The project integrated IoT sensors for HVAC and occupancy monitoring, adding approximately 8,000 low-bandwidth IoT endpoints to the same network fabric through dedicated SSIDs with VLAN isolation.
Manufacturing — Automotive Parts Supplier
An automotive tier-1 parts supplier operating an 180,000 sq ft production facility needed to converge OT and IT networks for real-time robotic assembly coordination across 8 production lines. Adtran implemented IP67-rated managed switches with PROFINET support and industrial DIN-rail routers, achieving sub-5ms end-to-end latency between PLCs and central MES. The deployment included redundant ring topologies (MRP protocol) ensuring zero-downtime failover, critical for the plant's requirement of less than 2 minutes unplanned downtime per month.
